After Clomid

During treatments with medications you will be monitored carefully, often with an ultrasound and/or and blood estrogen level check. At CRM, we make this process as convenient as possible. We do the tests at our office in the mornings so we can have the results available to you by that same afternoon after the nurses and physician review your unique case. At CRM, getting these results is easy – you simply use your telephone to access a voicemail system and listen to the results. The nurse will have provided instructions for the following day.

R-hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin)
R-hCG (Ovidrel) is an injectable hormone used to trigger ovulation. This medication is similar to luteinizing horomone (LH) because it is able to induce ovulation of appropriately sized ovarian follicles.

Bravelle®, Follistim® and Gonal-F®
Bravelle, Follistim and Gonal-F are injectable drugs used to induce ovulation. They are highly purified follicle stimulating hormones (FSH) that act directly upon the ovary and stimulate the growth and maturation of the egg.

hMG (human menopausal gonadotropin)
Human menopausal gonadotropins (hMG) are injectable hormones also used to induce ovulation. These medications contain the hormones FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone) which are responsible for stimulating the growth and maturation of the egg. This medication is marketed by several pharmaceutical companies, including Repronex from Ferring.

Progesterone
Progesterone, either injected or taken in capsule form, is a hormone produced naturally in the body to insure a thick lining of the uterus, which helps the embryo implant. We recommend progesterone therapy in early pregnancy for women who have deficient progesterone production during the latter part of their menstrual cycle, or who have been given medications to induce ovulation for IVF. The natural progesterone compounds used for this therapy are either identical or very similar to the natural hormone.
