Hysterosalpingogram (HSG)

Dr. Randall Loy explains what HSG is and when it would be used.  A Hysterosalpingogram (HSG) is an X-ray test that looks inside of the uterus and fallopian tubes, as well as the surrounding areas.  It is a simple procedure whereby a dye is injected vaginally through a thin tube into the uterus and then flows into the fallopian tubes.  As the dye passes through, X-ray pictures are taken, revealing any problems or abnormalities such as injury or blockage.
