Infertility Support Programs at Our Orlando, Florida Practice

Undergoing fertility treatment can be an emotionally and physically taxing process. Effective coping strategies not only improve a patient's overall well-being but also increase the chances of success in treatment. At the Center for Reproductive Medicine, we encourage our patients to participate in some type of infertility support program while undergoing treatment. We offer several options through our practice and can recommend many outside resources for infertility support in the Orlando, Florida area as well.

Alice DomarMind Body Program

The Mind-Body Program is designed to complement your medical infertility treatments by teaching multiple relaxation and stress-relief techniques. The program is offered by Dr. Gabriela F. Ott, a licensed psychologist who specializes in infertility. She was trained by world-renowned expert, Alice Domar, Ph.D., of Harvard Medical School, who developed the Mind-Body Program to provide women dealing with the stress of infertility with a toolbox of coping skills that will be useful throughout their lives.

The goal of the mind-body approach is to address not only the physical conditions that interfere with fertility, but also the emotional and mental factors. The program incorporates such methods as guided imagery, yoga, and meditation with traditional infertility support and teaches patients how to recognize and diminish the effects of stress on their physical and mental well-being. The program has been clinically proven to reduce the distress associated with infertility and may increase pregnancy rates.

For more information or to register for the Mind-Body Program please contact the CRM office or Dr. Ott at 321-604-7024, psychdoc_7@yahoo.com.

What people say about the Mind-Body Program

"The Mind-Body Program has been an invaluable experience for us, not only putting us in touch with other couples experiencing infertility but also teaching us skills to cope with it."
-- Dawn & Brad

"Participating in the Mind-Body Program was one of the very best decisions we made during our infertility process. The new tools we learned can be used in all aspects of life, not just infertility. The program also helped bring my husband and I closer during this very stressful time. One of the most spectacular parts of the program is the incredible women I met. It was so nice to be surrounded by other women who were going through what I was going through… I will never forget the love and support I received from these women and hope to remain friends with them for years. I strongly recommend this program for anyone experiencing infertility."
-- Jill

Patient Mentoring

The Center for Reproductive Medicine also offers a unique infertility support program that involves matching patients with past patients who have had similar experiences. Often, having someone to talk to can make all the difference in a patient's ability to cope with infertility treatment and stay positive throughout the process. Family members and friends are generally sympathetic and supportive, but do not have the experience to truly understand what a fertility patient is feeling. Patients who have the opportunity to talk to other patients usually find it extremely helpful.

CRM connects patients with previous patients who have volunteered to offer infertility support as patient mentors. We attempt to match patients according to as many factors as possible, including diagnosis, treatment plan, and age.

Every new patient at CRM is unique and has specific needs. The Patient-Mentor Program strives to identify those needs and help with the process.
