It is important for patients who are struggling with infertility to have access to plenty of information and support throughout their treatment journey. At the Center for Reproductive Medicine, we strive to provide as many resources as possible to our clients, including psychological support and information about coping with infertility. Furthermore, we also recommend several highly respected organizations that our Orlando, Florida-area fertility patients can turn to for additional information and support.
FERTILE HOPE IS A LIVESTRONG INITIATIVE
Dedicated to providing reproductive information, support and hope to cancer patients and survivors whose medical treatments present the risk of infertility. As a participating center, LIVESTRONG’s Sharing Hope Program provides increased access to fertility preservation services for cancer patients.
AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR REPRODUCTIVE MEDICINE
In addition to being one of the premier professional organizations in the field, the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) is an excellent source of information on a broad range of topics, including fertility, contraception, menopause, and sexuality. Patients will find articles and fact sheets that explain an extensive list of subjects in a clear and thorough manner.
SART (SOCIETY FOR ASSISTED REPRODUCTIVE TECHNOLOGIES)
The Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART) is a professional society for physicians who provide in vitro fertilization and related procedures. Thorough information about procedures, success rates, candidacy, and medications are available for fertility patients who are interested in learning more about ART.
SART has developed a predictor based on nearly 500,000 cycles of therapy to more than 320,000 women throughout the United States since 2006. This calculator is meant to help you understand your chances of having a live birth, based on your personal situation.
RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association is a nationwide organization dedicated to advocacy and support for men and women with fertility problems. RESOLVE also has local chapters throughout the country, including Central Florida, and provides support networks on both local and national levels.
Path2Parenthood (formerly AFA - The American Fertility Association) is a non-profit organization that provides information about a wide range of fertility issues, including reproductive and sexual health, infertility treatments, adoption, and third party reproduction. The organization also hosts an online community where individuals can consult with experts about a wealth of topics, everything from IVF to acupuncture, in the comfort of their own homes.
