From Dreams to Parenthood: Caroline and Katie’s Fertility Story
When Caroline and her wife Katie decided to grow their family, they already had a home filled with love—and dogs. “We had more dogs than most people should have,” Caroline smiles, recalling birthday parties for their pups that felt like celebrations for children. But deep down, they knew they wanted something more: to share their love with a child.
Their journey began over three and a half years ago, when they moved from Manhattan to Central Florida. Far from familiar faces and support systems, they were searching for something essential: a fertility clinic that was not only committed to excellence but also inclusive, compassionate, and trustworthy. “We wanted somebody that made us feel like people, and not just numbers going through a process”.
That’s when they found Center for Reproductive Medicine (CRM) and Dr. Sharon Jaffe in Winter Park.
From the very beginning, Caroline and Katie felt seen and heard. “Dr. Jaffe made us feel like we had a voice in our healthcare,” Caroline shares. “That matters so much during such an intimate procedure.”
The road wasn’t easy. There were multiple rounds of IUI, each one filled with hope and heartbreak. But through every step, Dr. Jaffe and the CRM team stood by their side listening, guiding, and encouraging.
Finally, after many conversations and careful consideration, Caroline and Katie decided to take the leap to IVF. It was a turning point. And when the day came that Caroline learned she was pregnant, the joy was indescribable. “Dr. Jaffe celebrated with us,” Caroline says, smiling. “They have been a big part of our family along the way.”
Today, Caroline and Katie are proud moms to their daughter, Atlas—a name that reflects strength and resilience, much like their journey.
Caroline’s advice for others walking this path? Stay the course and trust the process. “Pay attention to your body. Pay attention to your doctors,” she says. There’s so much information coming at you, and it can feel overwhelming. “Give yourself space to not only digest the information but to have a little bit of grace”. “If you have the chocolate cake now and then, the nutritionist will not come after you”.
She also emphasizes the importance of community and hope. “We kept running into other CRM patients, and hearing their success stories made us believe it was possible. And now, we’re one of them.”
Caroline and Katie’s story is a testament to love, perseverance, and the power of compassionate care. At CRM, we are honored to have been part of their journey and to celebrate the beautiful family they’ve built.
